Chihiro Iwasaki
Painter, born in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture Japan (now Echizen City) and raised in Tokyo. She painted children as the theme of her life. There are over 9,600 of her surviving works. Her representative works include "Ame no Hi no Orusuban", "Kotori no Kuruhi" (both published by Shikosha), and "Children in the Fire of War" (Iwasaki Shoten). In 1977, the Chihiro Art Museum, Tokyo opened on the site of her studio and home. In 1997, the Chihiro Art Museum Azumino opened.
