Shigeru Mizuki
Born March 8th, 1922. Raised in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture Japan. During the Pacific War, he went to Rabaul, a fierce battlefield, and lost his left arm in a bombing raid. After he was demobilized, he became a picture-story show writer and later turned into a manga artist. His representative works include "Gegege no Kitaro", "Nihon Yokai Encyclopedia", "Kappa no Sanpei", and "Akuma-kun". He passed away on November 30, 2015.
