Born in Tokyo 1967. Debuted in 1987. His representative works include "Hanao", "Tekkonkinkreet", "Ping Pong", "GOGO Monster", "Number Five Go", "Takemitsu Samurai" (Kazunari Sakunagafuku), "Sunny" and "Cat in the Louvre" (all published by Shogakukan). "Takemitsu Samurai" won the Excellence Award in the Manga Division at the 11th Media Arts Festival of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the Manga Grand Prize at the 15th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize. "Sunny" won the 61st Shogakukan Manga Award in the General Category and the 20th Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Manga Category Excellence Award.
