Ryohei Yanagihara was the pioneer of illustrators and the creator of the familiar character "Uncle Torys". His style is memorable and unique, as made of simplified shapes and contrasting colours. He also created many picture books including his best-known one "Face, Face, What Kind of Face?". His works have been loved for generations!
