Kirie (切り絵) is a traditional Japanese art form of paper cutting. It’s known for its delicate lace like quality and expressive drawing.

Fusashi Hoshino (born in 1948, Japan) creates his artworks by painting paper with a white base with watercolour and overlap one-piece of black paper cut out on top of it.
